Title: Training outline - Using screen recording and EdPuzzle to engage learners

Using screen recording and EdPuzzle to engage learners

Overview

This two-workshop series, facilitated by Shawn McCusker, is designed to support educators in using quick and easy video techniques (screen recordings and EdPuzzle, a tool for adding interactive activities to your favourite videos) to create engaging and informative activities for learners and tutors.

Screencasts can be fantastic instructional tools for teachers, but they can also be a creation tool for students.  In this session, we will explore how screencasts can be used to support learning in the classroom.  From tips and tricks for teachers creating supportive instructional videos to ideas for how students might use a screencast to demonstrate understanding, this session will share a wide variety of new ideas to get students and teachers started screencasting.

EdPuzzle is an easy-to-use platform that allows educators to transform videos into engaging lessons to improve student learning. By the end of this training you should be able to create or find videos, understand how to assign EdPuzzles in various ways, edit videos, and add questions/notes/voiceovers.
