Shawn McCusker is an author and Senior Director of Professional Learning at EdTechTeacher with 25 years of experience as a teacher and leader in public, private and alternative schools.
As an author, his book Becoming Active Citizens was published by Solution Tree Press in 2022, and he was a long time columnist for Digital Learning magazine. Shawn is passionate in his belief in student centered experiential learning and the power of student storytelling.
An early innovator in the organization of online learning communities, he was a co-creator of #sschat and #1to1techat. As an expert in technology integration his lessons and student products have been featured in the Journal, Educational Leadership and the Huffington Post.
In 2006, he was recognized as a finalist for the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching.
In 2016 he was named a Top Trailblazing Educator on Twitter by eSchoolNews.
An inspiring speaker, he has keynoted the IOWA 1:1 Conference, Innovation Summit San Diego, the Illinois School Library Media Association and NICE Minicon.
Carolina Cohoon
Carolina Cohoon is a dedicated advocate for learning and equity.
As a Project Manager and EdTech Innovation Strategist at Literacy Link South Central (LLSC), she focuses on driving innovation and accessibility in learning environment .
Her diverse background includes teaching Literacy to adults who are Blind and Deafblind, instructing English to newcomers, providing rehabilitation coaching in colleges and in the community, and contributing to public education and advocacy.
Within the Technology Network at Deafblind International (DBI), Carolina enjoys working alongside professionals to advance scientific research, discover technological solutions, and encourage learning.
Additionally, Carolina is also an active member of the Acquire Deafblind Network with DBI, where she enjoys collaborative learning and networking.
Tom Driscoll
Tom Driscoll is an author, keynote speaker and CEO of EdTechTeacher.
His career in education began teaching high school social studies in two public school districts in Connecticut. Following his graduate research at Teachers College of Columbia University, Tom began writing and speaking nationally about his practical experiences teaching and iterating blended learning models.
Before joining EdTechTeacher, Tom served as Digital Learning Director for the Bristol Warren Regional School District in Rhode Island, leading their Future Ready Educational Technology Initiative and 1-1 device program.
Tom has authored chapters for several instructional technology books and media outlets (ex. Edutopia, Edsurge, NY Times) and his most recent book “Becoming Active Citizens” was published by Solution Tree Press in 2022.
Shawn O'Neill
Shawn O’Neill is an experienced classroom teacher, curriculum designer, and presenter. She has spent over 24 years teaching in the elementary-level classroom and is currently a professor at Bridgewater State University, teaching in the Elementary Education Department. Shawn has served in a variety of leadership roles during her time in the elementary schools, including being a building technology coach, science curriculum team member, mentor teacher, curriculum developer and presenter, and district technology team member.
Shawn earned her B.A. in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Connecticut as well as her Masters of Arts in Teaching at Simmons University. She is currently earning her Ph.D. at the University of Massachusetts Lowell in Educational Leadership with a STEM focus.
Lindy Hockenbary
Lindy Hockenbary is an educator whose strength is helping other educators utilize technology to enhance learning experiences.
She has spent her career in various roles in the education field, including classroom teacher, curriculum writer, technology integration specialist, and professional learning manager. In addition to various roles, Lindy has worked in virtually every area of education: schools, education service agencies, non-profits, and EdTech companies.
As someone who loves to learn, her spare time is spent pondering how to make learning better. She uses these skills to facilitate hands-on trainings for teachers, engage educators through speaking engagements, and provide product feedback and training solutions to educational technology companies.
She is the author of “A Teacher’s Guide to Online Learning” and holds several edtech certifications, including Google for Education Certified Trainer, Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Master Trainer and Expert and Newsela Certified Educator.
